Description

NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council are considering the feasibility of commissioning a Voluntary Sector Organisation or Organisations to establish and deliver an early intervention service around young people's mental and emotional wellbeing in Stockport. As part of Stockport's work to transform children and young people's mental health services, we want to work with the voluntary sector to develop a service for young people, which will provide support and advice in the "Getting Advice" and "Getting Help" quadrants of the Thrive model. See: http://www.implementingthrive.org/about-us/the-thrive-framework/ Our intention is that the service will offer signposting to relevant services, advice on self-care and self-management, will provide regular drop-in sessions for young people and will work with other voluntary and statutory sector partners to offer creative activities for which there is an evidence base in relation to improving wellbeing, aimed at young people between the ages of 11-18. (For example, partnerships that support young people to take part in physical activity and/or arts and crafts projects.) The service will be expected to work closely with the Healthy Young Minds service, to develop a 'no wrong front door' approach for young people in the borough. Additionally, the Healthy Young Minds service will offer support to service, for example by offering staff to support drop-in sessions. The aspiration is for the service to operate by the following underlying principles: • Co-production with young people and parents/carers must be at the heart of service development. • Effective safeguarding practice in all their activity. • Development of partnerships both within the Voluntary Sector and with Statutory Sector partners is fundamental to this project. • Relevant activity must be reported into the national mental health services dataset. NHS Stockport CCG and the Council have a budget available of £45,000 per year and its intention is to offer a contract for a 3 year period with the aim of the service commencing on 1st September 2019. Interested parties will be invited to a Market Engagement Session with the CCG and Council on 2nd May 2019 to present their proposal for delivery of this project. The Session will be on a 1:1 basis , i.e. there will only be one provider in each session and will consist of the following: • An overview of how you would deliver a service based on the project description and underpinning principles. • A presentation to describe how the organisation would maximise income from other sources. We welcome interest from Voluntary Sector organisations which have a base within Greater Manchester and Alliance bids but a Lead Provider must be identified to deliver the service.
