Request for Information for Vehicle Consumables Providers

HMRC is investigating the available options for the purchase of vehicle consumables to maintain the HMRC fleet of approximately 1900 vehicles. The primary purpose of this decision to purchase is to ensure that HMRC’s vehicles stay roadworthy, and to ensure the continued safety of HMRC staff. Examples of the vehicle consumables required are as follows; de-icer, screen wash and even tyre tread & pressure kits (For more information please see the attachment. We would also require that any supplier of these specialist goods will be able to do so on a nationwide basis covering HMRC sites across the UK. Aim / overall objective HMRC is seeking information which will allow us to make an informed choice about whether, and how, to proceed with a requirement for vehicle consumables. In particular, we would like to establish: • The number of companies in the market currently able to offer the necessary range of required vehicle consumables on a nationwide basis; • How the process for ordering specialist goods might be facilitated; • How potential business partners would facilitate delivery/collection of products ordered;
