Description
Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council has a number of redevelopment and construction schemes which may be rolled out across the Borough in the coming years. It is considered likely that ground surveys will be required for each of these schemes. To enable an efficient procurement route, the Council intends to set up a framework of three contractors to undertake these surveys. For each of the surveys a mini competition will take place. This mini competition will be awarded on the basis of the lowest compliant bid. The types of survey will include: LOT 1 (LAND SURVEYS AND SEARCHES) o Topographical surveys o Ground Penetrating Radar and Electromagnetic Location Surveys o Building floor plans and elevations, plotted to CAD (dwg format) o Underground services searches and surveys (utilities etc), plotted to CAD o Full drainage surveys, plotted to CAD o Flood risk assessment reports LOT 2 (GROUND CONTAMINATION) o Phase I Desk Study Environmental Report o Phase II Intrusive Investigation o Geotechnical examination to include surface and subsurface exploration, soil sampling, blow counts and if necessary laboratory analysis Whilst the copyright to the surveys will remain with the Contractor, the Council will have licence to use and publish the surveys as appropriate and assign to a third party (e.g. A building contractor), at no extra cost. The framework will be available to all departments of the Council, which is likely to include the Corporate Property department (predominately public buildings, retail, and commercial and mixed use schemes) and the Housing department (affordable housing). The frameworks will be for a period of three years, with the possibility to extend for a further year.
