Description
The University of Hull is seeking to construct the Aura Innovation Centre (AIC), a specialist facility supporting low carbon innovation, which comprises a high tech engineering innovation workshop and computing facilities together with conferencing and office space, on land located at the Humber Bridgehead. The Aura Innovation Centre (AIC) will support clients and collaborative partners, based in manufacturing and service industries, by assisting in the development of processes and products, as well as providing solutions to problems encountered in these endeavours. It is anticipated that most of this activity will involve material science and, in particular, the study of the surfaces of the materials. Therefore, microscopy, at a variety of length-scales, will be important in recording the original surface as well as the outcome of processing. Fault finding and failure mode analysis is also facilitated by microscopy.
