Description
Southend Borough Council will be conducting an Open Tender to appoint a contractor for the Pier Anchor Bay Bearing Refurbishment and Replacement (Phase 1) Works within the boundaries of Southend on Sea Borough Council. The procurement process is being conducted electronically via the Council's e-tender facility Procontract: https://procurement.southend.gov.uk/southend/portal.nsf/index.htm You will need to register on the system, Express an Interest in this opportunity, then look at 'My Opportunities' where you will be able to find and view all the tender documents. Works are planned to include, where deemed necessary, the replacement of transverse deck beams, longitudinal beams, pile caps, bracing, rails and associated connections, clamps etc. in order to reinstate the designed structural performance of the pier with modern loading conditions. The tender is to be published on or before 28 February 2018 with a tender deadline for electronic submissions of 10 May 2018 at 12 midday. The Contract start date is intended to be 2 July 2018 and contract duration will be 24 weeks from the MMO approval of the Contractor's method statements.
