Description
NHS Supply Chain managed by Supply Chain Coordination Limited (SCCL Ltd) is exploring options in developing a Total Surgical Instruments Solutions. The high-level scope of the requirements in development covers Surgical Instruments including the following types of product ranges and services: Lot 1 Single Use Surgical instruments & Packs – Medical devices designed for use on a single patient during a specific surgical procedure and then disposed. They are typically individually sterile-packaged and ready for immediate use. Lot 2 Re-useable Surgical Instruments– Medical devices designed for multiple uses, requiring cleaning, disinfection, and sterilisation between each application. They are essential tools for a wide range of surgical procedures. Lot 3 Scalpel Blades & Handles Single Use / Re-usable – A scalpel is a surgical instrument used to make cuts, consisting of a blade and a handle. The blade is typically made of steel and is extremely sharp, while the handle provides a secure grip. Lot 4 Surgical Instruments Managed Service – Full management of surgical instrument maintenance, repair, and replacement or disposal where necessary. It will include all, cleaning and decontamination, sterilisation, transport costs, and meet critical turnaround times. Lot 5 Surgical Instruments Repair and Maintenance – Ensures the longevity, safety, and effectiveness of these instruments. Lot 6 Surgical Instruments Decontamination and Sterilisation Services – Ensure reusable instruments are safe for patient use by undergoing a decontamination process, including cleaning, decontamination and sterilisation by Steam, Gas or Radiation. Lot 7 Surgical Instruments Recycling Services – Ensure correct disposable options available for single use, and re-usable surgical instruments (when beyond repair). Lot 8 Procedure Packs - contain sterile single-use products which may be ‘National Standardised’ or ‘Bespoke’, comprising of key components for medical procedures e.g., wound care, dressing packs, catheterisation packs, and blood culture packs.
