Description
The Authority is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced and competent providers to provide HIV Prevention and Support Services. The HIV Prevention & Support Service will work with Liverpool residents from key populations, communities and vulnerable groups identified as being most at risk of exposure to HIV to improve sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing outcomes. The Service will play a key role in helping to co-ordinate and undertake HIV testing, whilst carrying out prevention work across the city. This work will include education and training with communities and partners to increase HIV awareness and reduce stigma. The Service will also raise awareness of contraceptive and pregnancy choices, sexual consent and facilitate access to wider health services, as well as promoting, normalising and facilitating access to key HIV prevention initiatives such as PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis), condoms and lubricant and community-based HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing. The service will also provide support, counselling and group work where required, for those people newly diagnosed with HIV, or currently living with HIV.
