Description
Northumberland National Park Authority are currently out to tender for the supply of Cotton Grass Plants DEFRA have awarded funding to four peat restoration projects in England, based on carbon capture and the value to wildlife. Northumberland National Park Authority is one of the organisations to benefit from these funds. The site in Northumberland National Park is Cheviot Summit (an approx. 276ha of peat cap around NT 9007 2045). This is the highest point in Northumberland. In order to restore a target of 8 hectares of bare peat, this project requires 80,000 cotton grass plug plants / root trainers (1 per sq m) by February 2021, which a separate contractor will transport up the hill and plant by hand in March 2021. Suppliers that would like to take part in this tender process are invited to 'Express Interest' upon which they will be given access to the full tender documentation delivery through this e-tendering system. When the tender documents have been made available involved suppliers will receive notification via email and the tender documents can be accessed from the 'My Tenders' area of https://in-tendhost.co.uk/nnpa by selecting the 'View Details' button of this project. The deadline for submissions of the tender will be 12noon on the 9th January 2019. Please allow sufficient time to make your return as late returns will not be permitted.
