Description
Appointed consultant will be required to produce a wayfinding strategy based around various schemes including Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro Extension (WBHE) corridor, A461 Walk, Cycle and Bus Corridor, Dudley Town Centre and Brierley Hill Town Centre schemes, Dudley Interchange, Dudley Port interchange Transformation Programme and Dudley to Pensnett LCWIP scheme. Before initiating the new wayfinding strategy, a review of the previous wayfinding strategy documents (to be provided) will be required to gain an understanding on what is required as part of the new strategy and collate relevant information from it to take forward into the new strategy. Additionally, a review of the current wayfinding provisions within the capture areas not covered in the previous studies will be required to understand the following: - Existing wayfinding infrastructure and what purpose it serves ? - Condition of the infrastructure - Current branding of infrastructure. The information gathered from this study can then be taken forward to produce the wayfinding strategy which must include the following deliverables : - Local identity/branding, considering stakeholder requirements, and ongoing maintenance implications - Outline locations for new/upgraded wayfinding infrastructure, considering potential street clutter and elevation of locations, providing specifications for this infrastructure - Outline type of wayfinding infrastructure at each location, e.g., finger post, totems, real-time information displays, local wayfinding maps - Outline the content on each of the infrastructure, e.g., trip attractors being directed to, maps to be included on totems. - Consider requirements for digital platforms - Agree display of distances in form of distance vs time - Create asset management log which outlines ongoing maintenance responsibilities of the assets as part of a long-term maintenance plan
