Description
Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group is exploring options on how to recommission their Consultant-led and delivered Community-Based Skin Surgery Service in Bath and North East Somerset (for Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and other lesions which would otherwise require a referral to secondary care). Key facts and requirements of the service are: • To provide treatment for high risk BCCs and other lesions traditionally requiring treatment in secondary care pathways • To improve access, maintain a high-quality service and effectively manage more patients in the community setting • To reduce pressure on secondary care dermatology services, especially at the Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (RUH) • To give patients the choice to attend a local service with equitable access across their local area To assist in the exploratory exercise, Commissioners are seeking to engage providers to help inform their next steps. The full service scope is in the process of being defined and the Commissioner will be holding Market Engagement Event (MEE) with the aim of: • Engaging with providers • Understanding the interest there might be in providing such a service from suitably qualified providers • Informing the commissioning process • Gathering information from stakeholders that may be used to shape a commissioning / procurement process and documentation. To register for the MEE that will be held virtually on 19/10/21 please complete the market engagement form and questionnaire attached to this Notice and return to scwcsu.whprocurement@nhs.net by 4pm on 14/10/21. On receipt of this document, an invitation will be issued to the interested party with a copy of the draft specification. In addition to the MEE, interested parties may request a 20 minute virtual audience with commissioners to discuss the proposed specification. These spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. In the event you are unable to attend but would like to receive a copy of the presentation materials please email scwcsu.whprocurement@nhs.net An expression of interest (EOI) to attend this MEE is no indication of a commitment to participate in any future tender process nor does it infer any special status on those Providers who do attend. An EOI in this event will not automatically entitle involvement in any future procurement. Any procurement conducted subsequent to the event will be advertised separately and all organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the advertisement as and when it is published. Providers who do not attend this MEE can still apply for any Procurement in the future. Please note that this MEE does not represent a formal stage in the procurement process and attendance will play no part in any subsequent evaluation process. This activity is being managed by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of the Commissioner.
