Description

The Wordsworth Trust has been celebrating the life and poetry of William Wordsworth since 1891. It is now developing ambitious plans to make it possible for even more people to discover one of greatest poets. This is an exciting opportunity to create a completely new interpretation of a unique literary heritage site, a poet's home with internationally important collections in the heart of the Lake District, and to help fulfil Wordsworth's own hope: that his poetry makes us 'wiser, better and happier'. The Wordsworth Trust is looking to appoint a consultancy to create and devise a PR plan for the "Reimagining Wordsworth " project , leading up to the 250th anniversary of the birth of William Wordsworth in 2020. The Wordsworth Trust is seeking proposals from public relations companies with experience in national, integrated communications campaigns, to, plan, prepare and deliver the public relations components of a high profile public awareness campaign on Reimagining Wordsworth during the development phase of the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) project. See attached brief for submission details. This will result in a segmented, multi-channel communications campaign that will: - support the public fundraising appeal. - create awareness of our objectives and proposals amongst a complex layering of stakeholders. - ensure stakeholder awareness of milestones/progress - drive synergy with existing Wordsworth Trust PR activity - engage with current and potential volunteers - develop internal communications, keeping Wordsworth Trust Trustees and staff informed and excited - deliver a major announcement (and possible launch event with a separate budget) at the end of the development stage, detailing plans, timetables and impact Applicants should specify their own metrics for successful outcomes which should be clear and measurable.
