Description
Nottingham City Museums would like to appoint a Museum Exhibition Designer to design a new gallery in the Wollaton Hall Natural History Museum. The gallery is located on the first floor of Wollaton Hall and is approximately 150 square metres. The refurbishment is part of a long-term project to improve all the galleries within the museum as part of the Wollaton Hall & Park Transformation Programme. As such a Wollaton Hall Transformation Master Plan has been developed and approved detailing the design concept and themes for each space. The gallery in question is currently known as the Africa gallery containing large taxidermy within historic dioramas. The intention of the refurbishment is to open up, improve and expand on the current settings and to tell the story of the art of taxidermy. It will be expected that the designer follows the approved Master Plan. The project will be managed by the Museums Development Manager in consultation with the Senior Museums Management Team. The appointed designer will work closely with the delivery team which is made up of the Project Manager, Natural History Curators, Exhibition Fabrication and Installation contractor and any other contractors [including a structural engineer]. The project commences from April 2022
