Description
The West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges (WYCC) is now actively seeking partners to express interest to act as a sub-contracting delivery partner for the following ESIF Tender Call “Widening Participation in Higher Level Skills” in Leeds City Region. The WYCC will be submitting a bid in collaboration with its partners across Leeds City region to deliver the following activities over a period of 3 years: 1. Activities to encourage people to take up high level education and training, particularly in subject areas relevant to the priority sectors of Leeds City Region and aligned with evidenced skills shortages including access and taster programmes to increase the participation of particular groups (eg female take-up of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) provision); 2. Activities to improve the employability of people working towards higher level qualifications to enhance retention and attainment; 3. Supporting individuals from the most disadvantaged backgrounds in accessing and participating in high level education and training, supporting them to progress into/in work e.g. through the delivery of outreach activity including taster courses to disadvantaged groups, participation in summer schools or work-based access course delivery; 4. Support for work placement, internship and conversion programmes targeted at graduates from Higher Education or Further Education to ensure that they have the particular skills required for employment, particularly in Leeds City Region key growth sectors and skills shortage areas.
