Market Engagement: Supply of Preston Park Museum Sweets Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council are seeking suppliers for the provision of Supply of Preston Park Museum Sweets. The proposed bidding process will take place in Winter 2025, but these timescales may change subject to Council discretion. Background Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council are seeking a supplier to supply the Victorian Street Sweet Shop at Preston Park with a range of confectionary (mainly sweets). The Victorian Street at Preston Park Museum in Stockton-on-Tees offers a charming and immersive glimpse into life in the late 19th century. Visitors can stroll through a meticulously recreated street featuring a variety of authentic shops and trades, including an ironmongers, printers, grocers, sweet shop, drapers, chemist, police station, and blacksmiths. Each shop is brought to life by dedicated volunteers, many dressed in period costume, who demonstrate traditional skills and engage with guests. Highlights include the sweet shop, where visitors can purchase classic treats like bonbons and pear drops weighed out the old-fashioned way, and the grocer's shop, which showcases produce grown in the museum's Victorian walled garden. Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council currently buy the sweets from a range of suppliers. The aim of this process is to streamline the spend and consolidate one supplier. The council has a pricing schedule of core items that are purchased on an ad-hoc basis across the year. Specific brands are named in the pricing schedule which the Council would like to keep in place for these items.
