Description
The Trust is building a new 33kV substation within the site compound of Hinchingbrooke hospital to cater to the power demand requirements for the new hospital programme. There will also be an interim solution of 11kV that will be required to be provided as part of the works to meet any power required during the construction phase of the new hospital and any enabling work projects. The 33kV and 11kV works will be carried out by an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) for all the contestable works who is a Lloyds registered NERS accredited contractor. The non-contestable works which will be carried out by the DNO have already been procured by the Trust and is progressing based on the accepted programme. The ICP who will carryout the works is expected to adopt the design after verifying it and this design will belong to the ICP’s who is carrying out the works. The order is expected to be placed with the successful ICP in the month of July 2026 with the aim that the construction works will be completed and handed over to the client by early November 2027. The Trust is seeking expressions of interest from Lloyds registered NERS accredited contractors to discuss the planned procurement and programme.
