Description
• Lot 1 - Accommodation placements for households to whom a statutory temporary accommodation. o Under Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 (amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017) is a statutory temporary accommodation is owed. o These households require a temporary place to live whilst further investigations are undertaken into their potential homelessness, and in some circumstances until settled accommodation has been sourced. o Some households will include people with physical health issues which will require a suitably adapted property. o As of 1st June 2025, there are 608 households with dependent children, 7 childless couples and 193 single person households in need of this provision. It is Salford City Council's aspiration to enable all households in temporary accommodation to be placed within the city of Salford. However, consideration will be given to supply within a reasonable distance from the city. • Lot 2 - Accommodation placements - Non Statutory o Where no duty is owed under Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 (amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017) but where the city council wishes to exercise it's discretion to provide temporary accommodation for a period of time. o This predominantly relates to the provision of single household accommodation in shared and self-contained properties to address or avoid issues of rough sleeping. o As of 1st June 2025, there are approximately 200 single person household and 8 couples in need of this provision. o It is Salford City Council's aspiration to enable all households in temporary accommodation to be placed within the city of Salford. However, consideration o will be given to supply within a reasonable distance from the city.
