Market Research and Strategic Targets

MIDAS is the inward investment agency for Greater Manchester, providing free of charge advice and assistance to national and international organisations looking to locate in the area or expand their existing operations. MIDAS’ services include the provision of market research and labour information, assistance with finding property, access to grants and help to recruit and train staff. MIDAS has a remit to attract inward investment and R&D collaboration to Greater Manchester, to support the expansion of existing investors in the region and to promote Greater Manchester as leading business location. We focus on four priority sectors: 1. Financial and Professional Services 2. Digital, Creative and Technology 3. Advanced Manufacturing 4. Life Sciences MIDAS conducts regular research into each one of its priority sectors; this forms the basis of our sector strategies. MIDAS is now looking to undertake independent validation of its current strategies. From this, we require lists of international strategic targets for each sector to accelerate lead generation for inward investment into Greater Manchester in 2016 and 2017. MIDAS will undertake the engagement with the identified companies. The results of this project and subsequent engagement will contribute to the outputs that MIDAS is delivering for ERDF programmes.
