Description
Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is conducting a procurement exercise in conjunction with Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust for the provision of a Pharmacy Service. Both NHS Trusts have been exploring ways of working closer together and plan to become one organisation in early 2020 subject to regulatory approval. The Trust(s) are looking for a comprehensive, high-quality Pharmacy Service which represents Value for Money (VfM) and complies with national standards. The contract comprises of the following elements: Procurement and storage of pharmaceutical products; Supply of pharmaceutical products for in and out patient use; Clinical stock management; Management of clozapine dispensing; Out of hours service provision; Financial and clinical management information; Dispensing in compliance aids as needed; Dispensing of daily instalments of medicines if required; Medicines Information; Clinical trials support; The Trust is looking for an innovative service, which results in: Realisation of economies of scale across the Trust(s) service area; Responsive and reliable delivery of pharmaceutical products for both inpatient and outpatient use, including discharge and leave medications; Enhanced and uniform reporting and monitoring of medicines usage across the Trust(s); The provision of medicines and, in collaboration with the Chief Pharmacist(s) and Trust Pharmacy Team(s), provide advice and information to promote safe and cost effective treatment of the clients cared for by the Trust(s); A uniform service delivery across the Trust(s) and equality for service users from a single specification. The scope of this procurement relates to the provision of services to all patients of the Trust(s) and may be subject to change as a result of future organisational and/or site developments.
