Description
Project Summary A project to identify and carry out listing assessments for 200 freestanding First World War Memorials in Norfolk. Historic England would welcome tender returns both from Contractors wishing to tender for the assessment of all 200 memorials and from Contractors wishing to tender for the assessment of 100 of these memorials. In the latter case, we would look to appoint two Contractors who would identify and assess 100 memorials each. Background As part of our contribution to the Government’s First World War commemoration programme, Historic England is aiming to add 2,500 War Memorials to the National Heritage List for England (the List) over the centenary period. We are doing this in partnership with War Memorials Trust and Civic Voice, who are recruiting and training volunteers to produce draft List Entries for us to use for listing assessments. This new project is to expand on the work of these volunteers by producing draft List Entries and Advice Reports for 200 free standing memorials in Norfolk which meet the criteria for listing at Grade II. Aims and Objectives The key aim of this work is to identify 200 eligible free standing war memorials in Norfolk and draft List Entries and listing assessments (Advice Reports) for them. Suppliers should send in their bids as per the tender documentation.
