The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has tendered for the provision of 19 Iridium satellite communication terminals with airtime contracts to provision a resilient, non-terrestrial communication capability during a national or critical infrastructure outages. Please note that the awarded value excludes extension options, but these were taken into account as part of the whole life cost assessment in accordance with the ITT procedure set out.
