Description

Third-party management role for Driving for Better Business 2026. The Driving for Better Business Programme (DfBB) is a key National Highways initiative engaging with employers to reduce collisions and casualties involving their staff who drive/ride for work. This initiative is a key contributor to National Highways’ KPI1, “Ongoing reduction in the number of people killed and seriously injured on the SRN”. STATS19 data shows 30,933 casualties from collisions involving someone driving or riding for work, and the odds of being involved in an injury collision whilst driving or riding for work is approximately 1 in 570. In the UK in 2024 there were 459 fatalities involving someone driving for work in comparison to 124 combined other deaths in the workplace in the financial year 2023/2024 according to the HSE. Additional to this is the economic cost, with the annual cost of driving for work collisions to UK PLC at £2.6 billion. The programme principles are set out in the 2005 Motorists’ forum report: Improving work-related road safety. [1] https://www.hse.gov.uk/statistics/fatals-
