Description
The aim of this work is to inform the design and implementation of built-environment innovation activity BEIS may launch in 2017. The project is divided into 2 Lots: Lot 1: Understanding best practice in deploying external solid-wall insulation in UK. The contractor will gather evidence of EWI best-practice in the UK by considering case-studies, and research and innovation work, and undertaking interviews with practitioners, researchers and other stakeholders. Lot 2: Understanding potential technological and process innovations to increase uptake of internal and external solid wall insulation. Drawing on a review of literature from the field of built-environment innovation, conversations with industry and academia, and other sources, the contractor will produce a report identifying how innovation might unlock greater take-up of IWI and EWI in the UK. This report is to inform further innovation work to both reduce the cost and improve the performance and consumer attractiveness of IWI and EWI.
