Description

4 Description of the service (3000 characters max): This triennial analysis of serious case reviews (SCRs) will build upon the last five biennial and triennial reviews undertaken by the same research team (Brandon et al, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014). It will continue to produce accessible learning for practitioners and policy makers from the themes and trends emerging from the three years 2014-2017. The review will build on the previous methodology for data collection and analysis, allowing comparisons of themes and trends with previous national analyses. The review will also embark on new approaches to both the analysis and the dissemination of findings and learning. Along with the main report and summary, a series of six downloadable practice briefings highlighting key issues, challenges and implications for practice will be co-produced with the organisation Research in Practice. The triennial review will also provide an additional study into the implementation and impact of recommendations from SCRs. Separate to the additional study, the review will also identify and analyse a number of themes and areas from the SCRs which require further investigation and that the new national Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel may consider for future national child safeguarding practice reviews. Both these pieces of work will be incorporated into the main report.
