Market Intelligence Database

1.1 The Opportunity As part of a new international trade support project known as Export for Growth, Business West are seeking a service provider to deliver a Market Intelligence Database to support the International Market Research Team. The International Market Research service forms part of a wider range of support products which Business West in collaboration with the Department of International Trade has designed to help SME's new to international trade or helping novice exporters to become more effective and successful in exporting. The International Research Team provide desk research to individual SME clients in the South West. Information is drawn from trade associations and professional bodies, government sources, trade journals and other print media, published reports, industry networks and databases. We wish to extend the range of online 'tools' available to the Research team and are looking for quotes in respect of a subscription based market intelligence database, including market reports. The International Market Research Team already have access to the Orbis and MINT databases provided by Bureau Van Dyck. The information from the market intelligence database and reports will be used in wider research reports that the team compile for SME clients in the South West. We require a comprehensive market intelligence database to include: • Data on a number of consumer product categories including but not limited to food and drink, health and personal care, apparel and footwear, consumer appliances, consumer electronics, consumer foodservice, home and garden, toys and games, luxury goods. • Data to include as wide a range of countries as possible o Core countries include EU, Switzerland, Norway, Russia, USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria. • Data and reports to include market size (value/volume), structure, distribution channels, competitor market share, trends, forecasts. The database should be available for 8-10 users at any one time.
