Description

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is redesigning its Health Visiting and School Nursing provision through commissioning a new integrated 0-19 service. The 0-19 Integrated Public Health Service will provide leadership, co-ordination and delivery of the Healthy Child Programme in Royal Greenwich. As an essential part of the Children’s Services ‘system’, it will make a major contribution to our Children and Young People’s Plan ambitions by improving health and well-being outcomes for children and young people, identifying additional needs early, building resilience and reducing health inequalities by providing effective universal and targeted interventions for children and their parents. At the heart of the service is an innovative, early intervention and prevention programme which is offered universally to every family with children and young people in Royal Greenwich. In addition to integrating health visiting and school nursing, the service will include the following: • School-aged Vaccination and Immunisation Service* • Family Nursing Partnership programme • Specialist nursing service for Looked After Children* • Specialist nursing service for children and young people supported by the Youth Offending Service *Royal Greenwich is commissioning the School-aged Vaccination and Immunisation service and Specialist nursing service for Looked After Children on behalf of NHE England and Greenwich Clinical Commissioning Group, respectively. The 0-19 Integrated Children and Young People’s Service will deliver new and innovative services, and demonstrate best practice in partnership and multi-agency working. It will actively seek to support families as well as individuals from birth, through school, and into adulthood. The successful contractor will enter into one contract for the delivery of all these services. The Authority will award a single contract to a single contractor for a period of 3 years and 7 months although the Council reserves the right to extend the Contract on the same terms for a period of up to two years making a total possible Contract period of five years and seven months. The service described in this specification will cover ALL local authority residents with children under 5 and all children and young people in attendance at a school/college within the Royal Borough of Greenwich. In addition the service will cover all Royal Greenwich residents who are not in education or being educated through an alternative education provider or educated at home.
