Description
The Authority is seeking expressions of interest from organisations in the waste management sector who may be interested in providing mixed inert waste recycling solutions. The Authority will likely be publishing two tenders as detailed below. For both tenders, the mixed inert waste shall be made available to the provider under the List of Wastes code 17 09 04. • Provision of Mixed Inert Waste Collection, Acceptance and Recycling Services from Preston Transfer Station, Wallend Road, Preston Docks, Preston, PR2 2HW. The services required are the collection, transportation, weighing, and recycling of mixed inert waste from Preston Transfer Station, Wallend Road, Preston Docks, Preston, PR2 2HW. The mixed inert waste will be collected and transported by the provider using a suitable bulk haulage vehicle, which shall have a minimum mixed inert waste load carrying capacity of not less than 14 (fourteen) tonnes; and a maximum loading height of not more than 4.8 metres. The design of the provider's vehicles shall permit loading of the mixed inert waste by the Authority's staff using a loading shovel. • Provision of Mixed Inert Waste Acceptance and Recycling Services which will be lotted geographically across Lancashire. The Services required are the acceptance, weighing and recycling of mixed inert waste from Household Waste Recycling Centres located across Lancashire, as well as limited amounts of fly tipped mixed inert waste from time to time. The mixed inert waste may be delivered by the Authority and/or its transport contractor and it will usually be delivered in roll-on roll-off skips but there may be times when the mixed inert waste may be bulked up and delivered in either 8 wheeled tippers or artic tippers.

The initial Framework period will be 24 (twenty four) months, after such time the Authority may extend the Framework by any number of defined periods, provided that the total duration does not exceed 48 (forty eight) months.
