Demolition Works

o Site clearance to Areas A, B & C for the installation of working platforms, haul roads and site welfare including management and disposal of all waste generated from site. o Surface vegetation clearance (de-veg) to enable access to permanent and temporary works locations. o Removal of minor underground obstructions and foundations as required. o Installation of ducting, pipework and drainage to and from the welfare facilities for the provision of power / services and removal of waste and foul water. o Installation of small concrete bases for site survey control set up works. o Excavation/trimming of existing ground for installation of working platforms in areas A-C as per attached presentation slides. o Installation of Pile mat/crane platform to Areas A, B & C. The subcontractor is to assume 400mm of 6F2 with 2 layers of geogrid. o Installation of haul/access roads from the main compound down to the satellite site access following the alignment of the reception line. Existing ballast is to be removed and replaced with a designed haul road. The subcontractor is to assume 300mm of 6F2 with 2 layers of geogrid. o Installation of compound hardstand area including foundations for welfare cabins and concrete footpaths. Subcontractor is to assume 2No. units double stacked (2x1x2) Suppliers will be required to have Constructionline Gold verification. If shortlisted, suppliers will be required to complete our internal PQQ form. The bids will be scored with a balanced scorecard approach that includes scoring on experience, resource, sustainability, health & safety, quality, and social value amongst other elements. VolkerFitzpatrick have undertaken numerous major infrastructure projects across the UK such as HS2, Wembley Olympic Way, Stansted Airport, Brent Cross West Station and RAF bases Lossiemouth and Lakenheath. This overall project is working for BBVS JV at the Old Oak Common Station site. VF are undertaking the bridge demolition and replacement for the bridges over Old Oak Common Lane and the Central Line. VF will also be doing the temporary and permanent road lowering at Old Oak Common Lane. The overall programme is 2022-2028, to be done in 3 stages.
