Description

Audit all existing internal communications content  Work with senior leaders, the People team and the Comms team, to understand the required content, frequency and channels for ongoing communications.    Structure channels to support on-going communications  Restructure and build new pages on the existing Genomics England intranet as an interim measure, which will allow us to store and share information.  Please note, the build of a new intranet is budgeted and scheduled for early 2023, so this is intended to be a short-term fix.  Build email, newsletter, survey and mailer templates to unify the communications programme, ensuring they are integrated with existing systems such as Bob.  Build in appropriate metrics on digital channels, such as open rates and click-throughs.    Build and roll out an annual communications framework and plan, to include themes, content, roles and approval processes.    Develop a template for the annual communications plan on an appropriate platform, which is dynamic, easy to share and easy to update.  Establish an annual communications plan, to include regular All Hands meetings, senior leaders' meetings, regular email/newsletter updates, intranet updates and monthly themes (integrated with embedding the transformation below).    Agree, formalise and embed aligned communications from All Staff, ELT, Tribe and Directorate meetings (and any other regular meetings), ensuring outputs are shared in a regular, uniform and sustainable way, without overloading employees with detail.   Develop and implement a cascade communications framework and templates for senior leaders to share details with their teams when appropriate.  Work with the People team to plan communications campaigns for individual people programmes, which can be integrated into the broader comms plan including:   Performance reviews and development  GEL Academy  Career Framework  Staff surveys  Wellness   Recognition (including star awards, shout outs and long service)  Successes and updates from around the business  Connexions communities (our culture programme)   Our new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy, including Empowering Women  Outline clear roles and responsibilities for communications - and sign off process  Build in sufficient feedback processes through all internal communications channels and ensure feedback is monitored, acted on and reported on.
