Description
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) require the design and installation of a new 28m high triangular lattice steel tower at Bradwell remote radio site, Bradwell Marina, Waterside Road, Bradwell-on-Sea, Southminster, CM0 7RB. National Grid reference is TL 99438 07746. The works will comprise the following. Existing Tower • Demolition of existing 22.7m tower Proposed Tower • Design, delivery to site and erection of a 28m triangular lattice steel tower • Construction of a suitable tower concrete foundation • Procurement and installation of an overhead cable gantry • Procurement and installation of an equipment cabin • Design and construction of a suitable cabin concrete foundation • Procurement and installation of a perimeter fence • General tower antenna and rigging works The appointed Principal Contractor must be experienced and competent in terms of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. The works will be procured traditionally via single stage selective competitive tendering and let under a NEC Short Form of Construction Contract. The works are deemed to be notifiable under the CDM Regulations 2015. It is intended that this contract will be for a period of approximately 12 weeks between November and January 2016. The contract has an approximate value between £100,000 and £150,000.
