Stray Dog Kennelling and Rehoming Services

Barrow Borough Council (the Council) is inviting tenders for the provision of a kennelling and rehoming of stray dog service to cover the Barrow Borough area. The successful provider would be required to receive stray dogs on behalf of the Council and return them to their rightful owner or detain and rehome, if not claimed. All stray dogs should be held for the statutory seven day holding period which commences the day after reception, unless they are collected by their owner. All relevant acts and regulations, statutory and non-statutory guidance and good practice relating to the welfare of dogs must be followed while undertaking this contract.
