Description
The Council is seeking an experienced organisation with a specialist background in the delivery of high-quality public art and street art initiatives to oversee the development and implementation of the programme across multiple locations within Cambridge. This will include supporting site identification and feasibility, coordinating permissions and stakeholder engagement, commissioning and managing artists, and coordinating community engagement activity alongside local practitioners and artists to help shape the development of the artworks. The appointed organisation will work collaboratively with Cambridge City Council, local communities and key stakeholders to ensure the project reflects the identity, diversity and lived experiences of the city. The programme should create welcoming and visually impactful public artworks that encourage civic pride, animate public spaces, and increase opportunities for residents and visitors to engage with contemporary public art within their everyday environment. The Council is particularly interested in proposals that demonstrate strong artistic quality, inclusive engagement approaches, and a clear understanding of working within civic and public sector contexts.
