Description
The MOD has a requirement for an investigative capability to work in support of the Royal Navy Police (RNP) within the Iraq Historic Allegations Team (IHAT). The IHAT is based in Upavon, Wiltshire. It is responsible for the investigation of allegations arising from British military operations in Iraq between 2003 and 2009. It operates within the statutory framework of the Armed Forces Act 2006 and all investigative activity is carried out under the day to day supervision and control of the Director IHAT and the Senior RNP Officer. The contractor must be able to provide a large number (circa 127) of suitably qualified and experienced personnel to support the RNP across a range of specialist policing functions and roles. Their tasks will include: the interviewing of witnesses, casework research and analysis, the running of a Major Incident Room and carrying out forensic analysis. Some of the contractor's personnel will also be required to fill management roles within IHAT and to assist in the development of investigative strategies.
