Description
An additional property is required to help reduce the combined cost of the new hospital for North West Surrey and the associated modular building at St Peter's Hospital. The Business Case has identified the preferred option as acquiring Two Bridges in Chertsey through lease or acquisition of the freehold. Two Bridges is next door to Unither House and would be used as temporary accommodation for non-ward based services from the ACU for the duration of the North West Surrey New Hospital project and would become the permanent home for several of these services. The property extends to 10,000 ft2 which is almost 50% larger than 6,675 ft2 required for ex-ACU services creating an opportunity for the remaining third of the building to be used as: • Additional meeting spaces. The pandemic means that the Trust needs access to larger meeting rooms than are available in Leatherhead House to facilitate face-to-face meetings in a Covid secure environment. • A large training room also needed for Covid security and also to help the training team clear the backlog of face-to-face training courses which were postponed during lockdown. • Expansion space for Unither House services which are out growing available space e.g. CAMHS. This project entails the internal refurbishment of the currently vacant building to a fit-for-purpose clinical and office space for the said services.
