Description
The Survey of the Mental Health of Children and Young People in 2016 will be the first survey of children and young people to focus on their mental health since the 2004 survey led by the Office for National Statistics (ONS). The overall purpose of the survey is to collect robust data on a range of topics relating to the mental health of children and young people. This will be used to inform the design and improvement of mental health services, improve our understanding of the state of children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, and help drive improvement in outcomes. Conducting a new survey of child and adolescent mental health has been identified as a key priority in a number of publications as described below.
