Description
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in unprecedented pressures on providers of local government services. It is anticipated that the recovery phase for the pandemic could be in the region of 6-12 months. To conduct a comprehensive service review. As the UK now finds itself responding to COVID-19, it will be prudent to extend the Integrated Community Equipment Service contract without a call for competition to the incumbent provider for 12 months to allow the Council to provide a sustained response for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic immediately and in the recovery phase activities. To conduct a comprehensive service review and procurement exercise during the public health crisis, with the expectation that providers will be mobilised for a contract start date of 6 September 2021, is unfeasible at this time.
