Description

Derby City Council invites tenders for service provision of Taxi Marshal & CCTV Active Monitoring service in Derby City Centre The Taxi Marshal element aims to improve public safety whilst assisting the Council and its partners in reducing alcohol related violent crime, racially aggravated crime, persistent low level anti-social behaviour and criminal damage / disorder incidents in the city centre by marshalled ranks providing both the public and drivers of licensed Hackney Carriage vehicles with a safe waiting area at key times. The CCTV Active Monitoring element combined with the use of the Pubwatch radio system allows for the co-ordination of statutory and voluntary sector partners such as the Police and Street Pastors in deploying resources in deterring / preventing crime before it escalates, identification of offenders, additional safety for vulnerable people and those working in the night time economy whilst gathering potential evidence for criminal and civil litigation.
