Description

The end to the current agreement to operate a foot passenger ferry operation in the Plymouth waterfront area is approaching. Plymouth City Council is looking to let a contract to ensure continuity of service for this established and well used transport link, effective from July 2017 and is keen to hear from operators who would be interested in the contract, which will be subject to competition. The operation has seen passenger numbers increase over the course of the current contract term. Growth has exceeded 40% over the last six and a half years, averaging over 180,000 users/patrons (individual ticket sales) per annum over the previous 3 years. The operation serves both daily commuters and growing seasonal tourist trade as the City of Plymouth continues to thrive. Plymouth City Council would like to advise that this is not a Call for Competition. All Expressions of Interest should be submitted via www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk by 12:00 (noon) on Monday 17th April 2016.
