Description
Wigan Council is looking to commission a specialist Forensic supported living service to provide support to people who are leaving hospital or a secure setting. The service will provide support to people with learning disabilities, mental health problems and / or autistic spectrum disorder who have offended, or are at high risk of offending. The service will ensure people have active and fulfilled lives in the community whilst effectively monitoring and safely managing high risk individuals. The Provider will: • Deliver a high standard of care and support and demonstrate a proven record of working with individuals with a learning disability who present with forensic needs and the complexity this brings. • Provide person centred support with the highest standard of professional practice, values and respect for individuals. • Work effectively with Multi-Disciplinary Teams involved with individual clients including other agencies such as criminal justice systems, MAPPA etc. • Be experienced in supporting individuals with complex needs through the transition process between services. • Ensure the service is staffed appropriately at the required level to meet the individual’s needs. This will include night cover. • Develop risk management plans and implement risk management strategies with individuals • Provide leadership for, and take ownership of, the implementation of PBS and risk management, including offending behaviour.
