Description
WCHG are seeking the removal of external masonry paint to specified elevations of single WCHG properties requested on an ad-hoc basis. The Works are to be carried out in line with BS 8221-2:2000 (Code of Practice for cleaning and surface repair of buildings; surface repair of natural stones, brick and terracotta). In addition to the removal of external masonry paint, we require bidding suppliers to also be able to provide repointing works and brickwork repairs where necessary. The Properties are two storey ‘local authority’ type mid terrace/end terrace/semi-detached houses of masonry cavity construction dating from 1930s to 1950s covering M22 and M23 postcodes. External paint in situ is often multiple layers of non-compatible paint. This should be confirmed on survey and appropriate treatment agreed with client. WCHG anticipate work to be done on one property per month. Therefore, an estimate of twelve properties per annum. Work to be done by the contractor per property, should be completed within 30 days.
