Description
via GLA Architecture + Urbanism Framework The Hounslow Town Centre (HTC) Public Realm & Connectivity Framework will be a design-led, high-level plan that strengthens connections between the high street and key public transport hubs and destinations including Hounslow East and Hounslow Central tube stations; Hounslow train station and Hounslow House (civic centre), as well as retail, leisure, community, faith and cultural assets. Drawing on recent stakeholder and community engagement that has captured community aspirations and priorities for the town centre, the framework will set out short, medium and long-term interventions across streets, spaces, wayfinding, and movement supported by high level costings and delivery phasing in the short (first 12 months), medium (2 - 5 years) and long term (5 years+). The Council will make a direct award to landscape design consultants who will subcontract transport planning consultancy advice. The council will appoint an independent cost consultant to provide cost assurance. The commission is funded by the Mayor of 2025/2026 London's High Street Place Labs programme to develop a local high street strategy that can attract investment to improve the public realm and boost economic activity
