Description
Erewash Borough Council requires the provision of services to receive and sort co-mingled dry recycling delivered by the Council, the transportation and delivery of the sorted material to processors and merchants, and the further sorting or final disposal of any non-recyclable or other unacceptable waste arising from the sorting process. The intention of the Service is to maximise the recovery of dry recycled materials to ensure the most financially advantageous position for the Council. To ensure operational efficiency and cost effectiveness, the proposed transfer station or processing facility provided by the Contractor to which the Council will deliver dry recycling should be within a reasonable distance from Merlin House, Quarry Hill Industrial Estate, Merlin Way, Ilkeston DE7 4RA. The contract start date is 1st April 2017. The Contract once awarded will, subject to ongoing satisfactory performance, remain in force for a period of 5 years. Thereafter the Council may, at its sole discretion, award two further extensions of up to 12 months each giving a total maximum term of 7 years. Any extension is subject to funding, business need and satisfactory performance
