Description
BFI has a dedicated National Lottery-funded Research and Statistics Fund through which it commissions research and purchases data for the industry and public good. Through the Fund we produce a range of independent and authoritative data and statistics across the film and screen sector value chain. A user consultation exercise has identified an important market data gap of film engagement metrics at a UK nations and regions level of granularity, something not currently served by the existing providers of film engagement metrics. The BFI wishes to commission a supplier to undertake a survey of film engagement which can be split by a variety of national and regional breaks to address this gap. This survey will provide relevant benchmark statistics which will have value for commercial, educational, cultural and government screen sector stakeholders. It is expected that the survey data will be used to inform and support regional and national development projects, national and regionally focused academic research, and government policy. The data will also be used to respond to the need for UK regionally framed film sector enquiries evidenced by requests made to the RSU enquiry service. Users of the survey data will include those working in the screen industry (e.g. producers, distributors, exhibitors, and business analysts) as well as government and trade body professionals, academics and students.
