Description

This Contract is for a Framework of Contactors for peatland restoration, including but not exclusively; fencing, supplying and spreading heather brash, supply and insulation of wooden, stone or coir dams, installation of peat dams and supply and spreading of lime, fertiliser and seed.Funded by EU LIFE programme and delivered by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership and the Yorkshire Peat Partnership the Pennine Peat LIFE project aims to restore 1353ha of bare and degraded peat to healthy functioning peat bog. The project expects to undertake up to £2.5 million of restoration work at 16 sites across the North Pennines, Yorkshire and the Forest of Bowland in the next 3 years.
