Description
The aim of the research is to explore doctors' awareness and understanding of the principles of consent and shared decision-making and the challenges they face when implementing these in their daily practice environments. The project will form part of an extensive consultation and engagement exercise we are undertaking to inform the revision of the General Medical Council's (GMC) guidance for doctors, Consent. The research project should therefore deliver findings by the end of March 2017 as the results will be used to inform this review. We expect the project to deliver an interim report to the GMC by the 28th February 2016. The main audience for this report will be the GMC's internal project management group and the aims are to:
