20-060 RRFAS Phase 2C Canal Barrier Construction

The Services\\r\r \\r\r The services are to provide pre-construction advice to the Employer's professional team relating to flood alleviation works at Brown's Cut for an operational Canal Barrier and associated ancillary works, including the agreement of the price for the works leading into the award of the works contract.\\r\r \\r\r An indicative version of the works contract is included as an appendix to the Professional Services Contract. This document would be developed further by the Consultant (Pell Frischman Ltd), RMBC and the successful YORcivils2 bidder as part of the pre-construction advice phase of the project.\\r\r \\r\r Work locations\\r\r \\r\r The works are located in Rotherham, off Main Street and The Statutes, and are:\\r\r • Canal Barrier (Gates and its support structure) - within the navigable canal at Brown's Cut (near Rotherham Lock) and close to where the canal separates from the River Don\\r\r • Ancillary works on East side of canal - within area of land immediately to the south of the access road (off Market Street, over the River Don) that serves the Forge Island site (currently a RMBC car park, and to transformed into a major Town Centre regeneration site, with construction starting in 2021) \\r\r • Ancillary works on West side of canal - within South Yorkshire Police car park\\r\r • Control Room for Canal Barrier - exact location to be confirmed, but within the areas set out above
