Description
The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) regulates auditors, accountants and actuaries and sets the UK's Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes. As the Competent Authority for audit in the UK, we set auditing and ethical standards and monitor and enforce audit quality. The purpose of the FRC is to serve the public interest and support UK economic growth by upholding high standards of corporate governance, corporate reporting, audit and actuarial work. In recent years, the FRC has undertaken a significant programme of reform across the areas for which it regulates. This has included revisions to the UK Corporate Governance Code and Stewardship Code, alongside the development of a strengthened approach to audit supervision and enforcement. These changes mark a step forward in enhancing the effectiveness, clarity and proportionality of the UK's regulatory framework. At the same time, the FRC operates within a dynamic and evolving political landscape. Market development and shifting policy priorities require sustained and proactive engagement to ensure that the organisation's role, remit and impact are well positioned and understood by ministers, policymakers and other key stakeholders. The appointment of a new Chair further reinforces the importance of clear positioning and effective external engagement at senior levels. In this context, the FRC is seeking to appoint a supplier to provide integrated stakeholder engagement, strategic communications and public affairs support. The successful supplier will play a key role in helping the FRC to: • Strengthen its reputation and relevance as a trusted, proportionate regulator • Support the communication and adoption of its revised regulatory approach • Enhance understanding of its work with policymakers, Parliament and key stakeholders • Provide insight into the evolving political, economic and regulatory environment • Identify and deliver opportunities for thought leadership and stakeholder engagement The supplier will be expected to work in close partnership with the FRC's Stakeholder Engagement and Corporate Affairs team to deliver a strategic, insight-led and adaptable programme of work that reflects the organisation's transition from reform to implementation.
