Description
West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority’s Occupational Health team aims to ensure that employees are fit and remain so in order to undertake their duties safely and effectively, have minimal sickness absence, and achieve maximum retirement age relevant to their pension scheme. However, the Authority accepts that it has a duty to ensure that the health of its employees is not adversely affected by their work, and that employees are fit to return to work following any absence due to illness or injury. The practitioner will be required to assist the OH team to achieve these aims having regard to the Authority’s duties to its employees and to promote and develop the OH service in response to organisational need.
