A303 Sparkford to Ilchester Dualling scheme =- Weld Inspection & Audit package

SCOPE TO COMPLETION OF SERVICES AS DESCRIBED BELOW 1. Background Galliford Try Infrastructure need to approach a supplier for the provision of audits and inspections of the structural steelwork consulting services on the A303 Sparkford to Ilchester Duelling Project for Steart Hill Overbridge. The structural steel work will be fabricated off site at the premises of Briton Fabricators. Indicative Program of Works Commence Fabrication of Structural Steel work in early February 20222021, Fabrication period 8 weeks to end March 2022 2. Scope of Services The Services that are required under this Agreement are to: • 1-off Audit of Weld Procedures prior to fabrication. (Senior Inspector) Ongoing weekly inspection to sample Structural Steel Fabrication at Briton Fabrications Works (Registered Office is Watnall Road, Hucknall, Nottingham, NG15 6EP. Exact fabrication location, if different from the above, to be confirmed at a later date) • Ongoing review of Material Certification & Traceability • Ongoing review of Cutting & Drilling • Ongoing Welding Inspections - personnel qualifications, welding sets, welding profiles and surface defects o Witness minimum 1 of each weld type o Witness run off/ run on procedure 1 per each weld type (where relevant) • Ongoing review of Non-Destructive Testing (including calibration of test equipment, qualification of testing personnel) • Ongoing review of any Repair of Non-Conforming Welds and Steel Repairs • Ongoing Dimensional Checks. NOTE: Final overall dimensional checks of the beams should be undertaken by GT Engineering / Surveying Team. Deliverables required are as follows: • Signed sheets as witness to tests and inspections within five working days of each visit; • Reports to identify general attendance and observations within five working days of each visit; • Photographic records, audit reports and close out information within ten working days of each visit Should this package be of interest please contact our Managing QS, Mr Adrian Paddock by 5pm on Wednesday 12th January 2022 who will arrange for the enquiry documentation to be issued.
