Description
The University of Essex is seeking tenders to create a detailed software model of the Gateway Buildings Low-Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) heating system, aimed at analysing system performance, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending improvements to optimise energy use and reduce carbon emissions and utility costs. The overall scope of the project is to create a model that will simulate the hydronic behaviour of the LTHW system, taking into account full hydraulic system configuration and components, control logic, variable outside temperature conditions based on localised weather data and variable building heating/cooling load (minimum resolution 1 hour). Calculation engines must account for both hydraulic behaviour and thermal energy flows at a full system level.
