Under the existing HMCTS buildings security policy, everyone entering HMCTS Courts or Tribunals via the public entrances is subject to a search by scanning through an Archway Metal Detector (AMD) and/or a handled wand and subject to a bag inspection. The only exceptions to this process policy are judges and uniformed or armed police officers that meet with the appropriate permitted and agreed strong authentications and the users of the current Professional Users Access Scheme (PUAS).
